Rachel has been a member of St Cath's since she was married here to John just over 21 years ago.  She has seen a lot of change in that time.  As well as being a Churchwarden, Rachel is also the Church Organist and Sacristan.  When one talks to Rachel it seems as though she had endless knowledge about almost any subject.  She has experience in a number of different occupations, and though technically retired, she still supports the aged care sector in multiple ways.  Rachel's a mum and a grandma and 'mother hen' to many at St Cath's.  Any spare time she has is spent in her garden, knitting or dabbling in art.

John is one of the newer members of our team and assists as our volunteer Caretaker but in reality he does so much more.  By trade John is a spoken word poet, author and performer, John's work centres around notions of hope, identity and wonder.  He grew up in a family of five boys, so he has always had an audience. He disliked high school but found his creative voice in art, poetry and performance.  When he is not helping out at St Cath's he is also supporting the Fireplace Christian Creative Arts ministry as well as being an active presence in the Melbourne poetry community.  John is perhaps best known for his big hugs and endless patience.
